UFC 291: Poirier vs. Gaethje 2, which took place on July 29, 2023, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, was a night to remember for UFC fans. The event was packed with exciting fights, with several knockouts and close decisions.

MAIN EVENT: Porier vs Gaethje 2

The highly anticipated rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje for the vacant BMF title lived up to the hype. Both fighters came out aggressive, throwing heavy punches and kicks. Gaethje landed a hard leg kick early on that seemed to hurt Poirier, but the Diamond battled back and dropped Gaethje with a right hand in the second round. However, Gaethje wasn't done yet. He came back strong in the third round and landed a brutal high kick that knocked Poirier out cold. Gaethje was awarded the BMF title in a thrilling and dramatic main event.


CO-MAIN EVENT: BLACHOWICZ vs. PEREIRA




The co-main event between former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and kickboxing standout Alex Pereira was another exciting fight. Pereira, making his light heavyweight debut, showed his power early on, landing several hard shots on Blachowicz. However, the experienced Blachowicz used his wrestling to control the fight and grind out a close split decision victory.
